Sandra Maria Mamoeda doesn’t come from a family of coffee growers. In fact, she’s only been involved in coffee since 1999, where she fell in love with coffee after arriving in Brazil during harvest season, after traveling from Yokohama in Japan.
Originally Sandra rented the land, where she was able to plant her own coffee trees and gradually expand as the years went on. At first it was a struggle due to her lack of capitol and improvements were slow due the limited resources. Yet over time with support from friends, she was able to learn the craft of growing coffee and improve her methods along the way.
This is the first time Sandra has exported her coffee, yet unfortunately this year she suffered a fire on her farm, setting her back - but luckily for us we were able to buy some of her amazing coffee!
Sandra is part of the AMECAFE women’s producer group, which is a group of 30 members who meet monthly to share their knowledge and goals, but most importantly to empower each other by improving their quality of life through coffee.
